The Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie
THE Classic. Chocolate. Chip. Cookie. By far the best cookie ever. We love butter around these parts, and that really does make the cookie. This is my favorite recipe, How do you make a recipe of your own, you make changes to it. So I encourage you to play! I sure did. So many of your favorites of offshoots of this one! Ingredients
170 g Butter (room temperature)
150 g Brown Sugar
50 g Sugar
1 egg + 1 yolk
10 g Vanilla Extract
250 g All Purpose Flour
6 g Cornstarch
6 g Baking Soda
4 g Salt
225 g Chocolate Chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 325F
In a medium bowl mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside
In the bowl of a stand mixer, or large bowl with a beater, add room temp butter and whip on high speed for 2 min until light and fluffy. Pale yellow color.
Add both Sugars. Start the mixer slowly and turn to high speed whipping for 1 min. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula.
Next add your Vanilla, Egg, and egg yolk. Whip on high speed in the mixer for 1 min.
Add in your flour and mix until just combined.
Add chocolate chips and either fold in or pulse mix into the batter.
Scoop cookies onto a parchment lined sheet tray. Place into the refrigerator for 30 min.
Bake cookies for 16 to 18 min, turning the tray at the 8 min mark, continuing for another 8 min or until edges are golden brown. Pull out of oven and allow to cool.*Set the Oven to 325F and bake for 16 - 18 min
Store in an air tight container for 3 days on the counter, or freeze up to 1 month for treats when needed!
